Welcome to The Wellness Counseling Group! I am the administrator here, and the friendly voice behind the phone when you contact us.
I have a background in mental health and hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Grambling State University. It is my passion to be able to help others and an honor to assist individuals with taking that first step to get the help that they need and deserve.
I am from Louisiana, and now live in Texas with my family. Some interesting things about me are that during my free time I enjoy spending time with family, I’m an avid singer, and I love cats.
KATIE PORTER, M.A., LPC-S
Thank you for stopping by! I have been a therapist for over a decade and specialize in the treatment of eating disorders and trauma.
I am EMDR and Brainspotting trained and utilize these techniques in many ways to help resolve recent and longstanding life experiences. Being a Certified Fitness and Nutrition coach as well as a personal trainer has helped me to incorporate nutrition and body movement into everything I do.
