Communication: “a process by which information is exchanged between individuals through a common system of symbols, signs, or behavior” (Merriam Webster). Let’s not forget the power of nonverbal communication as well. At some point in time, we all need to give some tender loving care to both how we communicate to those around us, and how we perceive others’ communication. In therapy, you will learn effective communication skills, such as active listening and learning how to become curious and ask questions rather than become defensive or critical. Improvement in communication can improve ways to be more present, clear and decisive. In any relationship, communication is key.
